The Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM lens is the first of its kind in the EF-S range. For use with Canon’s APS-C sensor cameras, the lens features a unique built-in Macro Lite technology to illuminate close-up subjects. As it’s a dedicated macro lens, it has a 1.0x magnification, with a close focusing range of just 0.13 metres. Mount Stortinden reflecting in the calm Flakstad Fjord, Lofoten. I was standing about 1 km from this 850m tall mountain. Being so close, I couldn't have included both the mountain and the reflection with a 16mm. It was easily done, however, with the 11-24mm. In reply to edgareler • Jul 21, 2019 Keep in mind that a 24mm lens isn't that wide on a Canon APSC camera, it corresponds to 38mm on fullframe. I have a Canon 600D/Rebel T3i and have recently purchased the 24mm f/2.8 STM lens. It is important to note that I am a beginner. I have the switch on Manual, and have tried several ways to get it to focus and shoot the precise videos I know the 24mm is capable of on a 600D. The Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM has a maximum aperture of f/2.8 which lets in quite a bit of light. Its minimum aperture is f/22. Canon says that its “aperture mechanism uses micro-stepping drive control for quieter drive”, which should benefit videographers who use auto exposure modes while shooting video. Review Canon null hhDGyDL. Extreme corner sharpness isn’t quite as good at maximum aperture as it is on Canon’s EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM – an extremely similar lens – and the manual focus ring is arguably a little thinner than is comfortable, but otherwise most aspects of this lens are very strong indeed. The Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM produces a heavy (4.1%), albeit not excessive, degree of barrel distortion in RAW images. As usual, auto-correction reduces the issue to a negligible degree. If you choose JPEG-only output, you can't even disable auto-correction in the camera. 28mm (corrected)
