Hello, I've got a Fiat Ducato 1998 2.5 14. This morning about a minute after starting the engine the glow plug light came on, I could hear the relay clicking and it was flashing for a little while. I restarted the engine and it did it again. Restarted a second time and it settled. Drove 6
Remove the wire from the glow plug and check it for a short to ground. Using the ohmmeter, probe the glow plug terminal with one lead and place the other on a ground. The glow plug has failed if the resistance is not between 0.5 to 2.0 ohms. Check the resistance in the wiring from the glow plug to the bus bar.
Ducato 2,3 JTD my: 2006 No glowing at all, has P0380 and P0683 fault. As I see all live data about temperature is fine. Checked plugs, 0.9 Ohm all, checked at end of wire at glow relay too. Checked supply it is stable. Checked ground it is ok. Ckecked all other wires ok. Changed relay for a new one, it is the same.

Aj6CMP. A glow light that comes on while driving on your Fiat Stilo or at any other time other than when the engine is started is meant to inform you to a problem other than your spark plugs, we will check out this right now. Whatever the case, plug in your car to the diagnostic tool will allow you to precisely understand the explanation for the light
I saw this on the web. Don't know if its related to why you are looking for the glow plugs but hope it helps. "The glow plug warning message on 2.3 engined X250 vans does not normally indicate a problem with the glow plugs! There is a very common fault with chaffed wires in the loom under the nearside headlamp. This causes an undesirable earth
Hi, I changed the glow plugs on my 07 1.3 GP MultiJet in October after the "check glow plugs" message appeared, over the summer. Bosch ones, as I recall - not cheapies. All fine - starting well, as usual, and no message. Two weeks back, the message re-appeared, with poor starting/white smoke from cold. All 4 plugs measure just over 1 Ohm, and
This is the Glow Plug Indicator symbol, which is found only in diesel-powered variants of Fiat Ducato. Diesel engines require heat in the cylinders to operate, which is supplied initially by its glow plugs when the engine is freezing cold. When illuminating green, this is operating perfectly but when yellow, a fault may exist.
I'm not familiar with the 2.0 JTD engine, but it's probably the same principle as the 1.9 JTD, and most other electronically controlled diesel engines. In which case, the only sensor involved is the engine water temperature sensor. It sends a signal to the engine Management ECU, which then sends a signal to the glow plug control unit.
I did order a deep reach socket that is for glow plugs first. Three came out easy, the last one was a pain but did come out eventually. The flats were a little rounded. So I broke the head off and forced a slightly smaller socket on. I also sprayed them with wd40 the night before then got the engine nice and hot. Hope that helps.
